Niepoort 1977 Vintage Port – Bottled 1979 – Original Stencilled Bottle – 75cl

Niepoort Vintage Port 1977, bottled in Oporto in 1979, is an impressive mature example from one of Portugal’s historic Port houses. Presented in the traditional dark glass bottle with the original hand-stencilled-style white lettering, the bottle clearly displays “Niepoort 1977 Vintage Port – Bottled 1979 – Niepoort & C.ª Lda., Oporto, Portugal.” The bottle retains its aged capsule, Portuguese fiscal/guarantee seal and original hanging medallion. An additional historic merchant label on the reverse identifies Pierre Hourlier Quality Wines, 390 Burton Road, Derby, England, providing an interesting trace of the bottle’s British commercial history. After almost five decades of bottle maturation, 1977 Niepoort is now a fully mature Vintage Port. The bottle shows age-appropriate wear and sediment. The surviving closure, seals, stencil and merchant label make this a particularly characterful example for a mature-Port collection.
